平成30年12月12日(水)、本校螢雪館ホールにおいて、2年普通科生徒対象の「異文化理解講座」を開催しました。「いろいろな国の人と英語で話そう」のサブタイトルが示すように、タイ、ベトナム、マレーシア、ラオス出身の7名の富山大学の留学生とパプアニューギニア出身の教授を講師として迎えました。
全体での講師紹介では、各国の母国語での挨拶を教えてもらいました。その後、8つのブースに分かれ、それぞれの講師に、日本や高岡の「学校・教育」や「伝統・文化」について紹介するプレゼンを行いました。プレゼン後は講師の出身国について質問をしたり、プレゼンした内容をさらに詳しく説明したりして交流を深めました。
グループのプレゼンではパンフレットや写真、弁当箱、かるたなども出てきて和やかな雰囲気がホールにあふれていました。また、高岡高校伝統の「青年体操」を披露するグループもありました。最初は声が小さかった生徒もいましたが、講師の方が熱心に聞いて下さり、わかりやすく話して下さったおかげで、だんだんと声も出てきました。ジェスチャーを交えて説明したり、実演したりするグループもあり活発な交流会となりました。

- At first, I felt nervous to talk with people from different countries but I got more confident through this experience.
- I really enjoyed the workshop. I learned a lot of interesting things about Papua New Guinea. I thought communicating with English is very exciting and like a small adventure!
- It was lots of fun for me to learn many things in this workshop. I want to keep up with my English lessons so that I can speak more actively and fluently.
- I found the importance of communication. When I introduced festivals in Toyama to them, I tried to speak loudly, make eye contact, and make a gesture. They nodded and repeated what I said, so I was happy to make myself understood. Through this experience, I realized it is important to try to do my best even if my English is not so good.
- Although it was a very short time, I could deepen my understanding of different cultures. I also found a lot of similarities in different cultures.
